Hello Everyone,

Our first meet of the season is Saturday, May 23, against the Clear Lake Forest Fins at Clear Lake High School. This is a NEW venue due to delayed construction at the Fins pool and the possibility of poor weather this weekend. We will not be able to enter the pool until 6:00 am.

We are all looking forward to a fun day of swimming. This is an away meet. Please read all the way through, as there is a lot of good information in here.

Timeline

• Arrival: 6:30 am
• Check in: 6:40 am
• Scratches are done at 7:00 am
• Orcas Warm Up: 7:20 – 7:40 am
• Officials Meeting 7:30 am
• Timer Meeting: 7:40 am for both shifts
• Meet Starts: 8:00 am

Swimmer and Volunteer Check In

Check in for volunteers and swimmer will be at the check in table located near the pool entrance. ALL swimmers must check in before the 7:00 am scratch time. If your swimmer does not check in on time, they will not be allowed to swim in the meet – there is NO late check in. If you need to scratch your swimmer, please e-mail Andy Adams (PBW Clerk).

Family Setup

This is an indoor meet – please pay close attention to the following instructions:

• GYM FLOORS WILL BE COVERED BY THE TEAMS WITH PLASTIC TARPS PRIOR TO SET UP – NO EXCEPTIONS
• Blankets are not acceptable barriers between chairs and the gym floor.
• Space is limited – no rolling coolers, wagons, or cots of any kind. No inflatable items (mattresses etc.) as they take up too much space (if you use a wagon to bring in your gear, it cannot stay in the gym)
• There will be no setup in the bleachers of the gym or in the stands on the pool deck.

Viewing Swimmers

We will allow parents to come in and watch their swimmer's race, but please do not set up in the bleachers. We ask that you enter, watch your swimmer, and then exit to allow other parents to watch their swimmers.

Swimmer Ready Area

Swimmers will enter the pool through the front doors and head to the ready area at the rear of the pool.

Parking

Clear Lake High School | 2929 Bay Area Blvd Houston, TX 77058

Please park in the Clear Lake High School back parking lot nearest to the Aquatic entrance. Please ensure that no vehicles are parked along the fire lanes. This is a critical safety measure to ensure emergency access is always clear Please see the parking map below.

Items to Bring

Remember that the swimsuit must be a one piece for females and males must make sure the suit strings are tied. No technical suits are allowed.

The caps must be an Orca cap and suits/caps must have no other insignia (no USA Swim, high school, other teams, etc). There will be Orca swim caps for sale at check in for $10 (cash or check only).

Concessions

Concessions will be available for both breakfast and lunch with both prepackaged and cooked items available. Cash and Electronic payment options will be available. There is no food allowed in the pool deck area.
